Rianne Groffen has spent more than forty years working where business, technology, logistics and people meet — usually at the point where a good idea has to survive contact with an operational reality.

It started at the Port of Rotterdam, on the hinterland side, where the value of a port is decided by how well it connects to the rest of Europe. That perspective — the chain rather than the terminal — has shaped everything since.

At Port infolink and later Portbase she led sales and marketing while the Dutch port community system grew into national infrastructure. That work was only partly commercial: it meant persuading competing parties that shared data was in their own interest, and then making sure the system was fully implemented in day-to-day operations.

In international rail she ran the commercial organisation and later the company at TFG Transfracht, moving intermodal volume between the North Sea ports and the German hinterland, working from Rotterdam, Antwerp, Brussels and Frankfurt. At PwC she advised transport and logistics organisations on strategy and change. At Yellowstar Solutions she was Chief Commercial Officer and Director Alliances & Business Development, building partner ecosystems around logistics software.

At Secure Chain, as Transition & Community Manager, she works on the governance, trust and implementation connecting 3,000 logistics parties — the part of digitalisation that has little to do with technology and everything to do with organisations. She is also Chairman at Nextlogic B.V.
